ashley & jonathan | athens, ga engagement photographer

it’s official. we met the first couple who actually overshadow my tree-climbing prowess. (it was a humbling experience.) during photo shoots, you often can find me swinging from branches to find that perfect vantage point. but, until recently, you would have seen just one monkey in the treetop. now two more monkeys dare to enter the sacred heights: they are ashley and jonathan. some schools of thought would discourage you from referring to clients and friends as “monkeys.” this sense of social propriety originally arose because humans do not like being compared to animals who have hands for feet and eat bugs from each other’s hair. however, after watching them climb, i’m pretty sure ashley and jonathan do possess these animal appendages — and i may even have seen jonathan put something in his mouth after touching ashley’s hair. so i think we can dispense with the social mores.

besides besting me on the branches, these two have a talent for making the most unusual poses look photographically appealing: falling helplessly into a shrub for instance. i tried it, and i looked ridiculous. ashley, on the other hand, makes it look like great fun — and completely graceful! our evening spent with this amazing couple was like going out to play as a kid — an entirely carefree adventure in some place far above the ground, where life is experienced more vividly. what a treat to return there with such an adorable pair of monkeys.;)

These are truly amazing pictures. They capture the true playful yet romantic relationship that both Ashley and Jonathan seem to share. I wish both a lifetime of happiness together!
