it seems like ages ago when we first heard from dennis, a doctoral student transplanted to uga from california. he wanted to plan a special portrait session for his very special girlfriend, julie, and her daughter. as he confided in us, moving from sunny california to the deep south was, at first, a daunting prospect — meeting these two made it an indescribably worthwhile venture.
after scheduling conflicts and weather delays, we finally got to meet dennis and his lovely ladies in person, just in time for the holidays. it was pretty evident why dennis felt so fortunate. we could have spent the whole day with this mom-daughter duo quite happily! julie’s an awesome mom. we loved the carefree spirit she had while playing and laughing with her daughter.
the phrase “like mother, like daughter” is true in so many ways with this pair. julie’s daughter was so fun and creative! and she already digs photography, too. (our kinda kid!) once she realized how much we liked working with her ideas, there was no stopping her brilliantly imaginative vision! (to be young again, eh?)
we couldn’t have asked for a more charming trio than you guys! thanks for letting us join in on all your fun! merry Christmas!

julie tried very hard to avoid making silly faces at the camera, in spite of our prodding. but we still got one! (it’s hard to hide when you’re having this much crazy fun.)

that’s right.. don’t mess with this “wonder woman!”

oh, i almost forgot. one of the best things to come out of this photo shoot — the egyptian walk. we never met anyone who could walk like an egyptian so well — not even an egyptian. but this girl has got it goin’ on! nice work!
