laura and robby’s wedding was like one of those weddings that you read about. (and i don’t just mean because you are reading about it, either.) ;) what i mean is, every detail and every moment of that day seemed perfect — as if the world were literally revolving around these two amazing people in honor of their marriage. not to say that the big day was “scripted” in the least, or that it even went to plan. (few weddings ever go to plan, and i’m not sure that they should. what fun would that be?) for instance, one of my favorite images from the day consisted of the groom and groomsmen standing outside their locked hotel room after checkout, calling for some merciful employee to let them back in for some last minute preparations — such as getting dressed. and certainly no one expected the inside sprinkler system to come alive during the reception at the st. simons casino. but after wine glasses were thrown over the sprinkler heads and the chairs were patted dry, the plants in the place really did look lush!
of course none of that could dampen the spirits of life-loving people like laura and robby, or of their fun-loving families. quite the opposite! we had a ball! arriving friday evening, we were so happy to be invited for an exclusive pre-wedding shindig atop the honeymoon suite courtesy of laura’s godfather at his amaaazing hotel. i packed my camera, as always, but mostly just enjoyed meeting everyone who had come together to celebrate and love on laura and robby. despite the wet weather that evening, things cleared up beautifully for the wedding day. i couldn’t get enough of the fresh, salty air — and we were blessed with even more beautiful weather on sunday, the first full day of laura and robby’s wedded life which we were lucky enough to spend with them for a very special encore session. don’t sweat it; those portraits will be up soon. until then, here’s a peek into a few moments that made history…
